Welcome!

This course was developed in 2009 and was the impetus for me to teach more painting techniques with video lessons online. 

Note that this class was created long before my cancer surgery, so unlike my current classes you can hear my voice quite well and there are no subtitles or translations in the class videos and lessons. This may be a consideration for non-English students who use google translate.

If you decide to take this course - know that it is the BEST class for a new artist, and a GREAT refresher course for any artist who needs to get back to the basics. 

As a fellow artist, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking this journey with me. I know that there are a lot of incredible classes and workshops out there, and I'm really happy that you decided to join me. Originally, this class was developed as an interactive weekly group class.

I have since developed the Paint Free class as an independent study. You can take as long as you need to complete it. And, like my other classes, you have Forever Access.

Paint Free is a process, and should not be rushed.

I encourage you to view the lessons in chronological order, and not skip ahead to the next week.

No matter how tempting.

I have also included special sections in each week called “Paint Free Artist Musings”. They are a collection of previous students’ comments, reactions, and artwork designed to encourage and inspire you.

Please keep the information that you learn in this class to yourself. I ask you not to share the tips, techniques, or videos posted here, with anyone who is not registered for this class.
