September Supplies

A note about supplies: please use what you have on hand. The lists are provided as a courtesy, but these supplies are not necessary and can certainly be substituted. Many are used over and over again, and the sad part is they go bad. I really, really, really suggest that you watch all the month's videos first before investing in supplies. Be inventive... what do you already have that you could use? You might be surprised.

The lists can be VERY tedious to put together. This year, I decided to scale back and list only the not-so-common supplies. So if you have a question about something, send me an email at Wyanne@wyanne.com

Paint more, buy less. Substitute and JUST PLAY :)

Group Warm-Up Exercise:

  • Pencils - both water-soluble AND non-water soluble.

  • 8" x 10" Canvas or larger.

  • Masking Fluid

  • FluidSpray Bottle for spraying water.

  • Black Paint (house paint is okay).

  • Acrylic Paints - about 4 colors, some opaque, some transparent.

  • Palette

  • Paint for outlining - it would be helpful to have paint that comes in a nozzle, or it can any kind of paint that is packaged that way.

  • An acrylic paint color that contrasts with the above paints, that will pop.

  • Terraskin Paper - this is NOT MANDATORY! You could also use canvas, paper, or cardboard, as long as it accepts masking fluid. A less expensive alternative should be available from Cheap Joe's.

  • Plastic Comb

  • Golden High Flow Acrylic Black Paint

  • Mark-Making Materials - plastic cup (like a yogurt cup), 12" scraper from Home Depot, textured cardboard, textured cloth, Dixie cup (or other small diameter cup or glass), chopsticks, scrapers, spoons, basting brushes, etc.

  • Rubber Cement - is a great pick-up tool for masking fluid.

  • Rubbing Alcohol

  • Hair Dryer

  • Squeeze Bottle

  • Paper Towels
