coats of varnish. Available in Gloss, Matte, and Semi-Gloss.

Pentel Oil Pastels
Regular Crayons
Susan Scheewe Wax Resist Sticks
Neocolor II Aquarelle Artists' Crayons (notes) They are universally
acknowledged. Their excellent lightfastness, their high pigment
concentration and their adaptability to several techniques have
helped to put them in a class of their own.
Neocolor II crayons are softer than colored pencils, denser than
children's wax crayons, and extremely responsive to a wet brush.
Wet and dry techniques can be combined in the same drawing.
Because of their strong pigmentation, light colors cover dark colors
and vice-versa. Try the sgraffito technique by scraping off one
or more color layers to create an engraved effect. Neocolors are
soft enough to smudge with fingertips, yet they are much firmer
than oil pastels. Best of all, they are water-soluble.

non-removable isolation coat over any painting. To do so, gels

prior to any of the coats of varnish. Available in Gloss, Matte, and Semi-Gloss.

(NOTE: GOLDEN HAS DISCONTINUED GARNET GEL. Mixing course
glitter into your gel medium will produce a similar effect.)
For textural effects with color, use naturally for unusual grounds.
Fumage Technique Notes:
Fumage is a surrealist technique invented by Wolfgang Paalen
in which impressions are made by the smoke of a candle or
kerosene lamp on a piece of paper or canvas. It was later employed
by Salvador Dalí, who called it "sfumato." Both Paalen and Dali
used the technique as a basis for their oil paintings. Paalen's
elongated surreal landscapes and Dali's elongated, wavy treatment
of animals and objects reveal the influence of the technique on their imagery.
A living artist who is using fumage is Turkish-American Burhan Dogancay.

create rich, subtle tones. The pure, clean colors are perfect
for bold expressive drawings, including fashion illustration,

desired. Useful as a non-removable isolation coat, applied over the painting and before the
varnish (must be thinned with water - 2 parts Soft Gel Gloss to 1 part water).
Golden Fluid Interference and Iridescent Colors
Fluid Iridescent Colors
GOLDEN Iridescent Acrylics are one of the most unique products available to artists today.
They offer highly reflective metallic variations when mixed with GOLDEN colors.
The GOLDEN Iridescent colors achieve their reflective properties by synthetically reproducing
several natural phenomena - the nacreous, or pearlescent, qualities found in fish scales or the dust of a butterfly's wing, and the shiny and reflective qualities found in certain metals and minerals. Fluid Interference Colors GOLDEN Interference Acrylic colors offer a unique "interference flip." When viewed from different perspectives, Interference colors flip between a bright opalescent color and its complement. When applied over white or lighter surfaces, the Interference color is less obvious and the "flip" effect is more obvious. When applied over black or darker surfaces, the Interference color is more obvious and the "flip" effect is less obvious. The Color Travel (C.T.) Interference colors offer not just one "flip", but multiple tones between two points on a spectrum. Interference Acrylic colors offer artists a range of reflective properties and interplay with light. Interference colors are relatively transparent, allowing artists the ability to glaze with unique effects.
Faux Beeswax Recipe - Combine 2 oz (59ml) Soft Gel (Gloss) with .05 oz (15ml) Soft Gel Matte.
Add about 1.5 oz (44ml) water. Add 4 drops Interference Blue (Fine) and 1 drop Iridescent Gold (Fine).
Apply by pouring or palette knife onto painting surface. Spread gently with a palette knife or spreading tool.

A Little Note from Wyanne

This faux beeswax recipe is made to be broken and customized. Try your own colors and mediums. Use soft gel semi gloss and a liquid matte medium. Use different colors or no colors to the recipe. The point is too come up with your own secret recipe! Be unique! I've tried it so many different ways, and never had bad results.
